1869 PECK & SNIDER CINCINNATI REDSTOCKINGS TRADE CARD SELLS FOR $51,121 IN SCP AUCTIONS JULY 23RD SALE

1925-30 BABE RUTH PROFESSIONAL MODEL LOUISVILLE SLUGGER BAT AND 1917-19 TY COBB SIDE WRITTEN LOUISVILLE SLUGGER SELL FOR $87,864 AND $31,944 RESPECTIVELY


Laguna Niguel, California – Industry leader SCP Auctions enjoyed another successful July 23rd auction close realizing strong prices across all segments of the auction.  David Kohler, President and CEO of SCP Auctions stated “Once again, our clients have proven that demand for sports collectibles across the entire market remains strong.  Whether it’s a high grade tobacco card, autographed Ruth item or something a little more modern we saw great participation in our sale at every level.”  David added “We certainly appreciate the passion our clients show for the material in our sales.  We’ll continue our goal of delivering high quality auctions with a wide variety of material for all ranges of collectors.”

Results from all segments of the auction were strong, highlighted by 1869 Peck and Snider Cincinnati Redstockings trade card authenticated by PSA, the first baseball card ever produced, sold for $51,121!  Additional card highlights include a 1909-11 T206 Ty Cobb Lenox Brown Back SGC 30 GOOD Sold For $20,714, 1909 E90-1 American Caramel Joe Jackson PSA FR 1.5 Sold For $8,488, 1915 Cracker Jack #103 Joe Jackson PSA NM-MT 8 Sold For $42, 517 and a T210 Old Mill Series 8 Joe Jackson PSA GOOD 2 Sold For $85,594 which was the second highest price realized in the sale. 

In addition to the single card highlights above additional card results included a 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle PSA MINT 9 (o/c) Sold For $43,942, High Grade 1952 Bowman Baseball Complete Set brought $10,630, 1960 Topps Complete Set all PSA 8 NM-MT realized $23,386, 1954 Dan Dee Complete Set with PSA NM-MT 8 Mantle Sold For $9,905, 1952 Topps #2 Pete Runnels PSA MINT 9 brought $17,119 and a 1948 Leaf #5 Satchell Paige PSA EX 5 ended at $8,488.

SCP’s memorabilia line up results were strong with an NBA 50 Greatest Basketball Players Legends Edition signed lithograph #15/50 selling for $62,249, 1925-30 Babe Ruth Louisville Slugger Professional Model Bat graded MEARS A9 brought $87,864 and was the top selling lot in the sale, 1917-19 Ty Cobb Sidewritten Louisville Slugger Professional Model Bat graded MEARS A9.5 realized $31,944, Stan Musial’s 1955 All-Star Game Winning Home Run Bat brought $42,517 and Michael Jordan’s 1989-90 Game Worn Road Jersey with pristine provenance sold for $31,127.
