In 1977 shortstop Bucky Dent and pitcher Mike Torrez Torrez were teammates with New York Yankees Yankees. However, the two players would be linked together in baseball lore for something much more than that.
In 1978 Torrez pitched for Boston Red Sox, and the Curse of the Bambino was in full effect when Dent hit a dramtic game winning homer off Torrez, a blast that cleared the Green Monster at Fenway Park, to take the American League East Division tiebreaker game. The Yankees went on to win the 1978 World Series.
Presented here is a dual signed baseball, inked by both Torrez and Dent.
