A spellbinding moment in time, the 1936 New York Yankees team photo, a year the Bronx Bombers won the American League pennant and the World Series crown.

The team won 102 games, leaving second place Detroit in the dust. The Yanks then disposed of the New York Giants in the World Series.

Prior to this resurgent '36 season sparked by the addition of rookie Joltin' Joe DiMaggio, the Yanks had not won the pennant since 1932. That must have seemed like an eternity to their restless fans!

This sturdy print originated in Yankee Stadium and now can be yours. Notable in the image is the innocence of the young DiMaggio, balanced with the poise and confidence of iconic veteran Lou Gehrig, who was in the prime of his playing career.
