There are no two names in the history of sports that evoke more reverence than Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Their legends have reached mythical proportions and their faces are woven into the tapestry of American history. Thus, their stature in the realm of sports memorabilia is similarly unparalleled. Offered here is a remarkable example of one of the most sought after collectibles in the hobby.

This Spalding Official League ball was dual-signed by the two baseball immortals circa late 1920s when each player was in their "Murderer's Row" prime and the Yankees were virtually unbeatable. Ruth has commanded the sweet spot as usual, while Gehrig owns the east panel. Both signatures appear in 6/10 black ink with ideal placement allowing each autograph to be visible from a single vantage point. What really separates this example from its peers, however, is the cleanliness of the baseball itself. Only a few minor scuff marks are visible on the creamy white surface. There is no presence of shellac or any other protective coating material, making it a true gem for those purists out there. The unique Spalding manufacturer stamps with the red-and-green stitches date the ball to circa 1909, much earlier than it is believed to have been signed. Includes full LOA from PSA/DNA.
