Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant was a pivotal piece to the puzzle that became the 2016 World Series Champions. The 24-year-old out of Univ. of San Diego, selected No. 2 overall by the Cubs in the first round of the 2013 draft, turned in a wonderful sophomore season as he batted .292, scored a league-leading 121 runs, clubbed 39 homers and drove in 102 runs. To no one’s surprise he was named National League MVP. But the crowning achievement for that campaign was helping deliver the first World Series championship for the Cubs since 1908. It was Bryant who recorded the assist on the game’s final out. This lot features a game used bat Bryant swung during that monumental season.

This black maple Chandler Kris Bryant professional model KB17 bat is un-cracked and exhibits evidence of excellent use. Several ball marks are visible on the back barrel. Ball marks include blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs. Cleat marks can be seen on the right barrel. Also visible on the barrel is a line from a weighted batting donut. There is a moderate coat of Mota stick on the handle. The mark visible on the handle identifies the face grain of the bat. This is a mandatory marking, per Major League Baseball, for all maple bats since January 2009. A Kris Bryant autograph with the added notation "2016 Game Used" is on the front barrel in silver. Includes LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA graded GU 8. The bat has been authenticated by MLB Authentication Services (JB339516) and Fanatics (ZZ0004343) for being autographed on May 14, 2016, and both holograms are affixed. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (auto.).
