From Hall of Famer and 300-game winner Phil Niekro comes this attractive 1982 Atlanta Braves game-worn home jersey, a blazing white beauty with the distinctive Braves styling that made the club one of the forerunners of modern uniform design. Niekro was nothing short of brilliant in that remarkable 1982 season, posting a 17-4 log with a 3.61 ERA at the ripe old age of 42, fairly compelling evidence of why he was still five years away from retirement. Win No. 300 would come four years later en route to a lifetime log of 318-274 and eventual HOF nod. With such a resume comes this striking shirt, with the famed scripted “Braves” across the front in red, white and blue tackle twill, the same scheme for his No. 35 front and back and for the elastic trim on the sleeves and collar. “Niekro” is across the back in blue tackle twill on a white nameplate. Wilson tagging (Size 42) appears at the back of the collar and a small strip tag with embroidered blue “82” is on the front tail. Shirt shows game use and just the slightest fraying of some of the red and blue stitching front and back and is in superlative condition, problem-free and without evidence of alteration in any manner.
