Andre Ware was the 1989 Heisman Trophy winner who played three seasons of college football for the University of Houston Cougars. In his junior season, after which he won the Heisman, Ware threw for 4,699 yards, 44 touchdowns and set 26 NCAA records. A first-round NFL draft pick in 1990 by the Detroit Lions, Ware eventually was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 1995 but only played in the preseason before being cut from the team. This is Ware’s jersey from that preseason. The official size 46 Wilson Jacksonville Jaguars NFL nylon/mesh football jersey is complete with the 1995 Inaugural Season Patch sewn onto the left chest. It includes the “95” tag indicating the season that’s stitched into the back collar and Ware’s nameplate is stitched across the back of the shoulders in white tackle twill letters with gold and black outlines. The Jaguars logo adorns both sleeves with the Wilson patch on the left and the NFL shield stitched into the front of the V-neck collar. Ware has autographed the No. 11 on the back of the jersey across the first “1.”

Includes a letter of provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
