Prior to the start of the 2003-04 season, Pistons General Manager Joe Dumars fired the 2002 Coach of the Year, Rick Carlisle, and replaced him with Hall of Famer Larry Brown. The Pistons had a strong core of players with Chauncey Billups, Tayshaun Prince, Rip Hamilton and Ben Wallace. Dumars then acquired Rasheed Wallace before the trade deadline strengthening Detroit’s already hard-nosed defense. In the playoffs, Detroit would knock off Milwaukee, New Jersey and Indiana on their way to facing the Lakers’ Kobe Bryant, Shaq, Gary Payton and Karl Malone in the Finals. Detroit dominated the heavily favored Lakers and the Pistons would take the series in 5 games. Stunning original ring as presented to Pistons' player Tremaine Fowlkes as a member of the 2004 World Champion Pistons. The ring presents beautifully with a 1/2 carat brilliant cut diamond inset onto a gold NBA Finals trophy graphic. Background field consists of (102) diamonds ranging in size from .003 to .04 carat weight along with "Pistons" team name across the front. "2004 World Champions" lettering is found at the top and bottom margins with (14) additional princess cut diamonds on either side margin. One side panel displays "Fowlkes The Right Way" with "24" and a basketball shaped emblem. The other panel has "Detroit Going to Work Pistons 4 Lakers 1" along with an enamelwork NBA logo. Marked 14K Intergold on the interior ring band, the size 12.5 ring weighs an impressive 94 grams. The ring retains its original lidded wooden box with inscribed metal placard on the lid.

Includes a Certificate of Appraisal dated 10/22/04 for $18,000.
