Beautiful piece sent to Chicago Cubs first baseman Frank Chance containing a nice poem entitled "How Frank Chance Played First base" as well as a large, very detailed portrait image of the Cub leader. Artist/poet states at bottom that the poem was modeled after one by C. S. Chapman titled "How Bateese played the violin". Dated Chicago 1906" at the lower right corner. Artist/poet has signed at the bottom "P. Kinchelor Baker". Pair of tears at lower sides, 2" on the right and about 2 1/2" on the left. As piece has been glued to a larger board there is no danger of tears spreading or bending up. Around all four edges in the border and not touching the poem, glue residue is present from a time when the poem was glued in a vintage frame. Piece measures 16 1/2" by 21 1/2". Framing will eliminate all the problems with the edges. A very eye catching display piece.
