This wonderful cap was worn by the putative all-time home run king during the late 1960's or early 1970's, the very period when Henry Aaron was dominating the National League scene with career numbers that seemingly had mushroomed to almost unfathomable proportions. Almost overnight, it seemed as though a whole generation of fans suddenly realized that the all-time career home run record held by Babe Ruth was truly within sight of the great Milwaukee and Atlanta star. This stunning Wilson-tagged cap with a No. 44 printed in black marker underneath the brim shows good game use and the kind of yellowing that you typically find in the white sections of caps from that era, with no discernible wear or staining problems on the cap or brim and not a whisper of fraying of the delicate white embroidery around the "A." Includes a LOA from Dan Knoll and David Bushing.
