One hundred years later such advertisements would be found to be politically incorrect, but not so in 1909 when these cool Hindu Cigarette advertisements in the Daily Picayune of New Orleans featured these 9-by-10-inch ads prominently in the upper right-hand corner of the famous daily newspaper. The ads are virtually identical, though the line drawings of the pictured T206 cards changes between the two. Each page is nicely framed and protected with plexiglass to overall dimensions of 18-by-24 inches. The two pages are 10 days apart: the first, dated Aug. 20, 1909, appears to be without issue; the second, date Aug. 30, 1909, presents almost as nicely but has a water stain on the lower right-hand corner, along with a small tear and paper loss of approximately 1/2-by-1 1/2 inches.
