Babe Ruth has flawlessly signed this outstanding Davega Sports Official League baseball across the sweet spot in rich, dark black ink. No collector of baseball memorabilia can claim to have a proper representation of relics of the game and not include in his coveted cache of acquisitions that ultimate classic, a baseball signed on the sweet spot by the greatest figure in the history of sport, Babe Ruth. Ever a man of the people, Ruth was more than a willing signer. In fact, he literally refined the art of signing baseballs. In spite of the sizable population of Ruth signed baseballs that exist today, the breathtaking quality of Ruth’s sweet spot signature presented here ranks it in the top 1% of those we’ve seen. Though the ball displays ideally as a pristine Ruth single, a rotation to the right reveals the additional signature of Billy Urbanski. The presence of Urbanski’s signature paired with Ruth in the same black ink indicates the ball was probably signed in 1935 when the two were teammates on the Boston Braves. The ball itself is off white and remarkably clean overall, betraying no evidence of use and minimal effects from handling. It would likely take expenditure near six figures to obtain a true Ruth “single” to match the visual impact of the presented gem.
