After breaking in with the Giants in 1951 Mays quickly established himself as one of the best players in the history of the game. Whether it was hitting for average, hitting a home run, making a spectacular catch in the outfield or stealing a base, Mays could do it all. A National League All-Star for an unbelievable 20 consecutive seasons, Mays is one of only three players in the history of the game to amass over 3,000 hits and 500 home runs. His 660 home runs ranks him fourth on the all time list, trailing only his godson Barry Bonds, Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron.

This Willie Mays professional model c.1965-68 Louisville Slugger 125 model bat measures 35" long and weighs 33.4oz. The bat displays great use including pine tar residue, ball marks, rack marks, cleat marks, and a handle fissure on the back side. In 1965 Mays hit a career high 52 home runs and the offered bat bears the desirable scars of that type of power hitting. S2 model number is stamped on the knob end along with "24" written in period black marker. "Mays" is stamped in block letters on the barrel. This is a picture perfect gamer used by the legendary "Say Hey" kid during his years in San Francisco.

LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (Graded GU9).
