Awesome signed display piece owned by Hall of Fame catcher Bill Dickey from the outstanding 1942 baseball movie "The Pride of the Yankees", documenting the life of famed Hall of Fame first baseman Lou Gehrig. At the center of the 13 3/4" by 16 1/4" item is glued a collection of 4 actual black and white photos concerning the movie as well as a larger image of Gehrig himself. Around this montage 23 people having to do with the picture have signed in mostly 9/10 looking black and blue ink. Among the notables who have signed are ball players Babe Ruth(HOF), Bill Dickey(HOF), George Dickey, Lefty O'Doul, Babe Herman, Bob Meusel, and Mark Koenig; actors Gary Cooper and Walter Brennan: super agent Christy Walsh; and producer Samuel Goldwyn. Piece in nice condition with some creases at lower left edge and a hole that hits the back of Bill Dickey's signature. There are also a couple of small areas of front paper loss including one that hits part of the "B" in Babe. All in all, still an impressive display item from an important baseball film that should display beautifully when framed.

LOA from the Dickey family.
