Upon the occasion of winning their fifth World Series title in a row in 1953 - the only time in history the feat has been performed - the Yankees presented each player from that history-making unit one of these 13-inch in diameter sterling silver commemorative plates. The plate - presented to Hall of Fame coach Bill Dickey - is engraved to depict a baseball, with seams top and bottom separating three spheres with facsimile autographs from more than three dozen members of the squad and team officials. At the "Sweet Spot" is the inonic Yankee tophat logo above a "V" and encircled by the years of the five titles. The plate itself is in very nice condition, reveailing only the kind of tarnishing that might be expected after a half century. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Dickey Family.
