From the great undefeated heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano comes this remarkable 18K gold and
diamond-studded wristwatch that was presented to the great boxer by the members of the War Two
Club of Brockton, Mass., where Marciano grew up. Marciano was the World Heavyweight Champion from
September 23, 1952, to April 27, 1956, and is the only champion to hold the heavyweight title and go untied
and undefeated throughout his career. He defended his title six times. There is no precise dating of when
the watch was presented to Marciano, but it is known to have been prior to the club’s closing in the mid-
1960’s. A square face of the gold watch features more than 100 real diamonds elegantly arranged in three
rectangles of diminishing dimensions. On the back of the face is the inscription “To Our Champ Rocky
Marciano, Friends War 2.” The watch gives every appearance of being in working order and in essentially
as-issued and problem-free condition, including the delicate linked watch band that also is seemingly
without issue. The watch is accompanied by a letter of provenance from Rocky Marciano’s brother Pete
Marciano.
