Spalding Babe Ruth Home Run Special blue and red stitch baseball signed by the slugger on February 5, 1931, before the beginning of Spring Training in Florida, 1931. Ruth has signed on the sweet spot in beautiful 7/10 looking black ink and added the notation "Feb. 5 - 1931" on the panel to the left in the same ink. Ball itself is fairly clean and has toned evenly over the years. Ruth would have another banner year in 1931, leading the American League with 46 home runs, 128 walks, and a .700 slugging percentage while finishing 2nd in runs batted in (163), runs scored (149), and total bases (374). The Yankees would finish 2nd behind Connie Mack's 3 time American League Champion Philadelphia Athletics, winners of 107 games during the regular season.
