Two vintage wire photos of Babe Ruth one of him taking batting practice the day before his August 23 1942 exhibition against Walter Johnson at Yankee Stadium (with original newspaper clipping on reserve) and a second of him hitting a home run off Walter Johnson during a war bond game. Also included is a spectacular 100 plus page program for the second of the Ruth-Johnson War Bond exhibitions on August 26 1943 at the Polo Grounds. Contains the all-time all-star team scorecard that took the field behind Johnson: George Sisler Eddie Collins Honus Wagner Frankie Frisch Tris Speaker Duffy Lewis and Roger Bresnahan and Connie Mack as their "manager." EX Condition. Program also features the entertainment insert scorecard only sold at the game. NM condition. LOA from Hank Thomas.
