This is the official box that houses Super Bowl rings from the San Francisco 49ers' historic 49-26 drubbing of the San Diego Chargers, nailing down the franchise's fifth Super Bowl title in a game that saw MVP Steve Young throw a record six touchdown passes. The 7-by-6-inch polished wood box is 2 1/2 inches high, with a hinged top showcasing a glass oval with the words "San Francisco Forty Niners" at the top, "Super Bowl XXIX Championship" at the bottom and "1994" split between the two sides etched in white within the glass. Red felt interior is in roughly similar shape as the rest of the box, which is to say virtually as-issued and problem-free, jarred only by some minor, barely discernible scratches on the box and residue from a sticker that had been removed from the back of the box.
