Philadelphia Magazine has long been an institution in that city noted for chronicling the best of just about every category you can think of, so it's hardly surprising that it would find itself conjuring up an award for the best Doctor the city has ever known. As in Dr. J, Julius Erving, honored here with a spectacular crystal trophy that is 6 1/2 inches high and displays a 5-inch square perched on one corner, with the words "Philadelphia Magazine 1993 Julius Erving, Best of Philly Hall of Fame." The square rests on a 6-by-2 1/2-inch crystal stand; the award comes in its original 10-by-8-inch Jaffa Crystal Etch presentation box (3 inches high), with blue felt backing. The trophy and inside presentation section are essentially as-issued and problem-free; the box is probably Fair, with a tear on the outside corner of the cover, a couple of dents and occasional paper loss from tape that has pulled away.
