This Jostens 10K gold ring was presented to Terry O'Brien as a member of the 1968 U.S. Olympic Luge Team at the Games in Grenoble, France. O'Brien, an Airman First Class at Plattsburgh Air Force base near Lake Placid in the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York, competed in the 1972 and 1976 Olympics; he was slated as part of the two-man luge in 1968 but did not start. The Size 10 ring is oval in shape, with a red stone at the face encircled by raised all-caps lettering "US Olympic Team 1968." Each shank has the well-known Olympic emblem with the rings atop one shield and "Luge" on the other. The initials T.O.B. are engraved on the inside of the band, along with "Josten 10K." The ring appears to be in essentially as-issued and problem-free condition and comes in the original black presentation box with gold highlights in a similar condition.
