There's no disputing Brooks Robinson's Hall of Fame credentials; about the only debate left about the legendary Orioles third sacker might be whether he's actually the nicest guy ever connected to Major League Baseball. Certainly one of the most affable and fan-friendly players ever, Robinson has built a following of several new generations with his work in the broadcast booth for the Orioles. Offered here is a 1968 Wilson-tagged cap in standout condition, showing good game use and yet with all elements in largely as-issued and problem-free condition. Robinson's No. 5 has been carefully hand printed underneath the bill as was the custom; the size stamping on the sweatband has faded a bit revealing a clear "7" the light markings suggesting a fraction. There is little or no fraying of any of the stitching around the Orioles bird logo or the eyelets. A splashy black Sharpie Brooks Robinson with its distinctive left-leaning style covers much of the top of the bright-orange bill. An accompanying letter of provenance states that this cap was originally obtained from the Orioles equipment manager in 1968. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
