Awesome 10" by 14 3/4" piece of original 1960 baseball artwork featuring popular New York Yankee and 61 home run slugger Roger Maris. Even more impressive, Maris has signed at the lower left side in strong, 8-9/10 looking blue ball point pen ink. Realistic portrait image of Maris is at the center surrounded by baseball cartoons. Most of the cartoons deal with how Roger Maris is producing runs for the Yankees just as the man he was traded for, Hank Bauer, used to. Interesting to note that in one of the cartoons they mention Maris is, "Like Hank, A Lead-Off Hitter". Artist has signed "BROB" at the lower left corner. Front is very clean with the back having 4 areas at each corner where it was glued at one time. At the center in blue pencil is written "4 Col Wed Sports". Outstanding piece that will frame up beautifully.
