Outstanding 10/23/29 hand written 3 page letter by Hall of Fame 2nd baseman Eddie Collins on 7 1/4" by 8 1/2" American League Baseball Club of Philadelphia letterhead, containing baseball content. In the letter Collins thanks the recipient at Deerfield Academy for sending an evaluation of his son Paul and then goes on to talk about the 1929 World Series, won by the Athletics in 5 games. "I only wish you could have seen this series. I believe you would have experienced something new in thrills. I've been through quite a few, but never anything like this." The entire black fountain pen letter and Collins signature appear to be perfect 9-10/10. Letter itself in very good condition with just the usual light mailing folds. Also included is the original 8 1/2" by 5 3/4" type written evaluation of Collins' son from Deerfield Academy referred to in the letter.
