Very desirable early card of legendary Hall of Fame pitcher Grover Cleveland Alexander from the extremely condition conscious 1914 T222 Fatima Cigarettes Baseball issue. Actual glossy photographs applied to a thin paper backing make any grade above EX almost unheard of. Beautiful black and white photo of a young Alexander going into his wind up. One corner about VG/VG-EX with the other 3 EX or better. Very clean front. Back does have some scattered staining plus a small area of center where the card appears to have been attached to an album page at one time. No paper or text loss. A shade less than 60/40 centering both ways. Some creasing at the upper third of card near the face that is not too disruptive of the front paper surface. Many collectors consider this and his 1914 Cracker Jack card to be his true Rookie cards. Decent copy of a very significant card.
