Very eye appealing 1889 N526 card of popular Boston Beaneater Hall of Fame legend Mike "King" Kelly with the Diamond S Cigars ad on the back. Kelly gained fame while playing with the powerful Chicago White Stockings, helping them to National League Championships in 1880, 1881, 1882, 1885, and 1886. After the 1886 season he was sold to Boston for the unheard of sum of $10,000. In 1890 while playing and managing the Boston Reds. he led them to the only Player's League Championship. Front offers an attractive black & white portrait drawing of the 19th Century fan favorite, with an ad for Diamond S 10 Cent Cigars on the back. VG-EX to EX corners. Fairly clean both front and back. Perfectly centered. The only N526 Diamond S Cigars Kelly graded by PSA.
