Few athletes have ever reached the level of domination that Wilt Chamberlain achieved throughout his basketball career. An offensive force second to none "Wilt the Stilt" is one of only two players who have scored more than 30000 points in an NBA career. Because Chamberlain's skills were so far superior to his competitors several rule changes were enacted to harness his awesome ability. When Chamberlain left the NBA in 1973 he had captured two championships - in 1967 with the Philadelphia 76ers and in 1972 with Los Angeles. Upon retirement Wilt held numerous records: he scored 50 or more points 118 times 60 or more points 32 times and is the NBA's all-time rebounding leader with 23924. His legacy will forever remain etched into the NBA's glorious history. The Los Angeles Lakers retired Wilt's #13 jersey on November 9 1983. Offered here is the actual jersey unveiled that day which since hung in The Great Western Forum. Wilt's massive mesh jersey one of seven ultimately retired by the Lakers measures 9.6 by 7.2 feet and is mounted to a black felt covered board. Rarely are pieces of this nature made available to the public. A letter of provenance from the Los Angeles Lakers accompanies.
