In 1940 the retired pitcher and Montgomery County Maryland Commissioner ran for a U.S. Congressional seat. Although Johnson a Republican was swept away in the Roosevelt landslide of that year a number of highly collectible mementos of his run at politics are included here: 1. The 8-page foldout campaign brochure is the only known example of this pamphlet that is publicly known. 2. A Walter Johnson For Congress baseball design pin. 3.
