This intriguing loving cup trophy was presented to Warren Moon as The Player of the Game for his performance in the 1978 Rose Bowl. Moon's underdog Washington squad upset Michigan's National Championship aspirations with a 27-20 win, with the Husky quarterback running for a pair of touchdowns and throwing for another as the Huskies prevailed, handing Michigan its second loss of the campaign. The loving cup is 8 inches high, resting upon a heavy marble circular base that is 3 inches high and 7 inches in diameter at the bottom. Along with a 2-inch in diameter NCAA logo on a sculpted disc, there are engraved notations of "Rose Bowl Football Player of the Game" and the year, 1978. While all elements of the piece appear to be largely as-issued and problem-free, there is some tarnishing visible on the loving cup that does not detract from the presentation. Moon has added a handsome black Sharpie autograph on the front of the white marble base, along with his inscription "'78 Rose Bowl MVP."

LOA from Warren Moon.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
