ADDENDUM: Please note that the catalog heading is incorrect. This custom pool cue is not from Willie Mosconi.

When it came to billiards Walter Alston was considered a “sharp”.  In fact, Alston once said that while pursuing a degree in industrial arts and physical education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in the mid-1930’s that finances were a challenge and that he paid his way through school by playing pool.  In his adult life, Alston’s pool table in the center of his trophy room was often the center of the family’s leisure activity.

Residing in its original case, the end of the handle section of the two-piece cue is marked, “Walt Alston Original by Tad’s.” The cue is finely crafted from what appears to be maple wood and remains in beautiful condition. Additional tips are also included in the case. Also included are four original photographs from Alston’s personal photo collection of him shooting pool at his home and elsewhere.

LOA from the Alston family.
