This is a RARE Vintage & Original 1971-1972 ABA Basketball Program Virginia SQUIRES vs. Carolina COUGARS in FAIR condition from GAME Dated November 23, 1971 @ The SCOPE in NORFOLK, Virginia in front of 10,015 fans. Program has 56 pages with NO missing pages, Spine has been taped, & The Cover has Scope LOGO (Inaugural Game) and shows WEAR. "Dr. J" has autographed the front cover in bold black ink.(9 or 10 out of 10 sig) Scorecard is UNscored and nice. Inside program shows wear & has a few pages with small ink & pencil marks. Inside contains stats, ABA Team rosters, '71-72 Squires Home & Away & TV Schedule, Pictures ROOKIE Julius Erving, and a Profile of Squires Jim Eakins and pictures Squires Young TV Radio man Marty Brennaman, & Pro-Keds Ad with Pistol Pete Maravich! The back cover has a few scuff marks and old Kool Cigaretts Tobaco AD.

This was The INAGURAL Game played at newly contructed SCOPE in Downtown Norfolk, Virginia and the first sports event played there which set a record for attendance.

The Va. Squires Lost to the Cougars 102-98. The Squires Charlie Scott led the scoring with 27 points. Cougars Listed on the roster are: George Lehmann, Larry Miller, Jim McDaniels, Ted McClain, Gene Littles, Ed Manning, Stew Johnson, Warren Davis, George Stone, Wayne Hightower, Randy Denton. SQUIRES Listed are: Rookie Julius Dr. J Erving, Charlie Scott, George Irvine, Doug Moe, Jim Eakins, Fatty Taylor, Neil Johnson, Ray Scott, Bernie Williams, Adrian Smith, Willie Sojourner, Bill Bunting, Mike Maloy, Dana Pagett, Mike Barrett and coach Al Bianchi.
