In 2012, the baseball Gods were once again kind to the San Francisco Giants as they prevailed in the Fall Classic for the second time in three years. It was not without much drama. After winning an MLB-record six straight elimination games to get past Cincinnati and St. Louis in the NLDS and NLCS, respectively, Bruce Bochy’s boys swept the A.L. Champion Detroit Tigers in four straight, highlighted by Pablo Sandoval’s three-homer game in the opener. Los Gigantes would make the even years a trend in 2014 with their third championship in five seasons. Offered here is the shiny reward for San Francisco’s stressful 2012 playoff run, this one presented to former star pitcher Vida Blue. The retired southpaw, who won a Cy Young, MVP and three rings with the cross-town A’s in the early 70s, had two separate tenures in San Fran (1978-81, 1985-86) and was enshrined on the Giants’ Wall of Fame at AT&T Park (now Oracle) in 2008.

Designed and produced by Tiffany & Co., the face of the sterling silver ring features the "SF" logo in a bed of 52 round melee diamonds. Above and below is a bezel reading "WORLD CHAMPIONS." Seven round diamonds, on each side, represent the organization's seven World Series titles. The left shank reads “BLUE” and “2012” as well as a depiction of a trolley car atop a baseball to honor San Francisco. The right shank lays out the path it took to become champs: “SF DET 4-0”, “SF STL 4-3”, and “SF CIN 3-2.” The inner band is hallmarked “Tiffany & Co. AG 925”, indicating its sterling silver makeup. The ring is sized at 12.5 and weighs 58 grams. Vida Blue’s ring shows minimal wear and comes in its original wooden presentation box (stamped “2012 World Champions, October 28, 2012” on top) as well as its Tiffany & Co. cardboard packaging. Includes LOA from PSA/DNA (AF04982) by their ring evaluator.
