The 1930s produced its fair share of baseball legends with marquee names like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Jimmie Foxx capturing most of the day’s sports headlines. Well guess what? This lot includes a very unique baseball with signatures from the aforementioned trio and a host more. In fact, the official American League (Harridge) Reach Baseball actually has two signatures from Ruth on it! That in itself makes this baseball an extremely rare find. Foxx’s signature can be found on the sweet spot in black ink. Other notable signatures in black on the baseball, which was shellacked years ago for preservation purposes, are from fellow Hall of Famers Walter Johnson, Rogers Hornsby, Joe Cronin and Earl Averill. The two remaining signatures are from former big leaguers Jimmy Dykes and George Earnshaw. The signatures are all very legible with the exception of Gehrig’s as it appears to have faded considerably over time. Overall this multi-signed baseball would get a rating of 6-7/10 in our book. An incredible find from baseball’s most nostalgic era.
