8 by 10 black & white photo of the famous Ty Cobb spiking Frank Baker play with a handwritten account of the play on the back by Ty Cobb. On the back in perfect 9-10/10 blue steel tip pen ink Cobb has written "The "terrible" Baker spiking play, fans always resented the unfair accusation one Horace Fogel wrote the story, play was in Detroit, he wanted to arouse the fans I suppose and improve gate in Phila, he did at my expense. Note Baker is in line and on the offensive, I am well inside and away from bag toward home plate, Baker never lost an inning of play, was only knicked on forearm and most important my foot is over and past his arm trying to tag bag and his arm is not even knocked aside". Photo in nice condition with a diagonal crease at the upper right corner.

Cobb handwriting Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
