Winning Major League Baseball’s coveted “Triple Crown” doesn’t come easy. To lead your respective league (American or National) in batting average, home runs and runs batted in is a feat seldom accomplished by any major leaguer. But this lot features not only one Triple Crown winner, but four – all from the American League. Starting with Boston Red Sox slugger Ted Williams in 1942 and ‘47, the specially engraved bat offered here reveals the player’s name plus the specific numbers he put up for those miraculous seasons. The 35-inch long ash Louisville Slugger bat showcases three other A.L. Triple Crown winners and their respective numbers as well: Yankees legend Mickey Mantle (1956); Orioles basher Frank Robinson (1966) and Red Sox icon Carl Yastrzemski (1967). What’s more, each of the four Triple Crown winners have autographed the bat in blue marker right above their engraved signatures on the barrel. Although Detroit’s Miguel Cabrera did turn the trick in 2012, “Yaz” had been the A.L.’s last Triple Crown winner up until that point.
