This lot features three different horse-racing trophies from the 1980’s that were secured at the Del Mar Racetrack by longtime owner Eugene V. Klein. The first is a 15-inch tall silver trophy (non-sterling) with a black wooden base that commemorates the 1989 Del Mar Bing Crosby Handicap. Won by “On the Line,” the two-handled trophy includes a silver plaque on the base that reads “Winner, On The Line, Owner, Eugene V. Klein.”

The second part of this lot is a pewter ice bucket (five inches high by eight inches wide) that was awarded to the winner of the 1984 Coronado Stakes at Del Mar. Engraved on the back it reads: “Winner, Alyanna, Owner, Mr. & Mrs. Eugene V. Klein.” It is missing one of its two horseshoe-shaped handles. The third and final piece to this lot is a sterling silver hallmarked bowl that was awarded to the winner of the 1984 Balboa Stakes at Del Mar. It measures nine inches in diameter and weighs 624 grams. Specially engraved across the front it includes a raised silver horseshoe.

Includes Letter of Provenance from the San Diego Hall of Champions.
