The late, great Tony Gwynn’s signature remains a sought-after item for autograph collectors. This lot includes a total of 61 personal checks signed by Gwynn between 1981, the year before he made it up to “The Show,” and 2002, the year after he retired from the major leagues. What’s interesting to note is the evolution of Gwynn’s signature from when he and his wife Alicia resided in Long Beach, Calif., in 1981, to 2002, when the family also had a home in Fishers, Indiana. The signatures all are in outstanding condition and would rate 8-9/10 in our book. The checks range in denomination from $15 all the way up to $30,000.
