In 1986, perennial All-Star Tony Gwynn made the trek to Houston’s Astrodome to partake in his third MLB All-Star Game. This lot includes a special All-Star Game knife set that Gwynn was awarded for making the team. The specially designed Gerber Legendary Blades, 10 in all, are in pristine condition. The collection of knives comes inside a beautiful walnut wood box that measures 18” wide by 4” high by 7” deep. On the top of the box is a special gold plaque that reads: “1986 ALL STAR GAME Presented to TONY GWYNN." It includes the facsimile signature of then-National League President Charles S. Feeney. The box opens and closes fine, although two of its three hinges are broken.

Includes Letter of Authenticity from the Gwynn Family.

A portion of the proceeds generated by the Tony Gwynn Collection will be donated to the Tony and Alicia Gwynn Foundation. The TAG Foundation is a non-profit, 5013(c) charity dedicated to creating and supporting programs that enhance opportunities for youth to become healthy, educated, and productive citizens. The TAG Foundation was organized in San Diego in 1995 by Tony’s wife, Alicia. For more information, visit www.tagwynn2.org.
