Selected by St. Louis in the eighth round in 1983 Tom Pagnozzi enjoyed a solid career that included an All-Star appearance, three Gold Gloves and most importantly, a World Series title with the Cardinals in 1987. Offered here is a signed Cardinals home jersey worn by the scrappy catcher during the 1987 Fall Classic. The team name "Cardinals" is embroidered across the chest in classic script-style highlighted by the club's birds-on-a-bat logo. In red-on-blue double tackle twill, "19" is sewn to the back and left front, with "Pagnozzi" arched atop the number on the back. Red-white-and-blue striped stretch ribbed cotton comprises the V-neck and sleeve openings and a "1987 World Series" logo patch adorns the right sleeve. On the jersey's front, Pagnozzi's black marker signature shows "8-9" strength. Inside the left front tail is a "Rawlings" size "42" manufacturer's label. Moderate game wear is evident.
