The first championship belt that boxing Hall of Famer "Terrible" Terry Norris won was the NABF (North American Boxing Federation) Light-Middleweight title over Steve Little on December 9, 1988 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Featured here is his official NABF Light-Middleweight title belt. Norris was just making a name for himself in the boxing world, coming into the fight with a record of 19-2 and five straight wins in 1988. In the 6th round, Norris threw a vicious right hand to knock out Little and claim the vacant NABF crown. Established by the World Boxing Council (WBC) in 1969, NABF title holders are not officially recognized by the International Boxing Hall of Fame, yet many of the best all-time fighters have reigned as champions within its storied history.

The black leather belt features a large, metallic rectangular centerpiece (8" across) with the trademark NABF logo in the middle and an eagle/shield/boxer figure on top flanked by a pair of boxing gloves. The gold-colored centerpiece is lined with 20 alternating red and crystal colored faux gemstones (1 crystal missing) and is flanked by two reflective gold plates (5" across). Norris has added his autograph and "NABF" inscription in bold 9/10 silver marker (slightly smeared) to the left side of the black leather strap. The right side of the strap features a Velcro attachment. The backing of the belt is lined in maroon velvet padding and features a Velcro attachment. The belt measures 41" in length and weighs in at a 6.8 lbs. Coming directly from "Terrible" Terry's personal collection, it shows some wear and use, with faint rusting on the centerpiece, but overall remains in EX-NM condition.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.

Includes a Letter of Authenticity from "Terrible" Terry Norris.

“Terrible Terry” Norris certainly lived up to his nickname as a boxer, but outside the ring is another story. A few years ago, he and his wife, Tanya, started the Final Fight Foundation whose “mission is to serve as a catalyst for the under-served athletes in health and retirement assistance, during and after their careers.” Norris now suffers from Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), Parkinsonism, and Dementia brought on by years in the ring. A portion of the proceeds from his collection will go towards his foundation.
