The great Ted Williams played his entire, 19-year major league career with the Boston Red Sox. From 1939 to 1960, Williams was a member of the Red Sox even though he lost nearly five seasons due to military service (1943 to ’45 and 1952-53). He hit a total of 521 home runs, won six A.L. batting titles and recorded an astounding lifetime batting average of .344.

This lot feature a pair of Upper Deck Authenticated (UDA) signed items from the “Splendid Splinter. The first piece is a Mitchell & Ness Cooperstown Collection replica Boston Red Sox home jersey (size L) that Williams signed in navy blue fine-point marker on the left front side. The 100% wool jersey reads “RED SOX” across the front in red on blue tackle twill and includes Williams’ trademark No. 9 on the back, also in red on blue tackle twill.

The second piece is a framed and matted 16” wide by 20” high black-and-white photo of the 6’ 3” tall Williams standing in a dugout taken during his rookie season of 1939. A classic pose, it was signed by Ted in crisp blue marker and was a limited-edition (#292/500) print manufactured by UDA.

Each item includes a UDA COA with matching hologram. The jersey has two holograms stickers (BAB75949 and AAK18498) affixes to the shirttail tagging, but only the former matches its COA. The hologram for the photo is BAC19167.

Both items pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
