Boston Red Sox icon Ted Williams was one of the greatest hitters who ever lived. A first-ballot Hall of Famer in 1966, Williams played 19 seasons in Boston where he batted .344 and slugged 521 career home runs. But it was in 1941 when Williams accomplished a feat that has yet to be surpassed or equaled in the past 73 years: he batted .406 for the season. This lot includes two items signed by Williams. The first is an official American League (Brown) Rawlings baseball that the “Splendid Splinter” has signed across the sweet spot in blue ink. The second is a framed original cover of the Life Magazine that was released on Sept. 1, 1941, celebrating Ted’s season to remember. Williams is captured via a black-and-white portrait photo showing him smiling ear to ear in his Red Sox uniform with his weapon of choice over his shoulder. Ted has signed the cover in black Sharpie right across the middle. The framed magazine cover measures 11.5” wide by 15” tall. Both signatures are solid and rate 9/10.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
