This lot features a 1989 National League All-Star Game ring that was given to five-time All Star Steve Sax, who was with the New York Yankees during that season. The ring includes a CZ set in dark blue stone on top surrounded by "Major League All-Star” in raised lettering. The American League logo is highlighted on one shank while "Anaheim Stadium 1989 All-Star Game California Angels 1989 July 11, 1989" is featured on the other. Inside the ring band is stamped "Balfour Auralite.” Ring displays light wear and comes with a letter from Steve Sax.
A portion of the auction proceeds from all items sold in the Steve Sax Collection will benefit the foundation named for Steve’s son, John, who was one of five U.S. Marines killed in a training flight accident in June 2022 in the California desert. The Capt. John J. Sax Foundation “serves to support those who choose to further their education, exploration and passion for flight."
