NFL Hall of Famer Steve Young wore this official 49ers game-worn home jersey during his second MVP season in 1994 when he passed for nearly 4,000 yards (3,969) and 35 touchdowns in leading the 49ers to the Promised Land, earning the MVP nod for Super Bowl XXIX. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame and at the time of his retirement had the highest passer rating among NFL quarterbacks with at least 1,500 passing attempts (96.8), and is currently ranked third and boasts the highest ranking among retired players. Young also won a record six NFL passer rating titles. The jersey shows light game use and the appropriate Wilson tagging on the front, indicating his Size 44; there also are three small flag tags with "44 - 32 - EW",. From the intricate NFL 75th Anniversary embroidered patch on the front to the sleeve and collar piping, virtually all elements of the piece are problem-free and in largely as-issued condition.
