Torch carried by Steve Garvey during his "leg" of the relay to bring the flame to the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Torch measures 23 inches in length with the top about 5 inches in diameter. The top features the Olympic motto in Latin around the edge along with the five Olympic rings with a detailed engraving of the Los Angeles Coliseum encircling below. A tan leather wrap covers the handle down to a 2" brass fitting at the end containing the LA Olympic logo. A second brass fitting about three quarters of the way up the handle has an engraving that reads "Games of the XXIIIrd Olympiad Los Angeles 1984." Garvey has signed the lower leather wrap in near perfect looking 9/10 black felt tip pen "Steve Garvey 6". The torch shows evidence of having been lit and is in beautiful condition.
