Stan Musial returned from his Navy service in World War II with a vengeance, carrying his St. Louis Cardinals to a World Championship while leading the league in hits, double, triples, slugging, batting average, and runs. With a year like that, it’s easy to understand why Chesterfield cigarettes chose to feature Stan the Man prominently in the 1947 advertising campaign. This 21” x 22” display depicts the smiling Cardinals legend in his ballcap holding a pack of Chesterfields. The trademark slogan “ABC” Always Buy Chesterfield appears in a ribbon at the bottom. A dazzling large scale piece that celebrates Stan Musial’s greatest season. This piece shows only faint traces of light wear, is all original unrestored condition and has been expertly framed and matted with protective UV glass. We have seen no other version of this sign in better Near Mint condition or with a more perfect signature, which was obtained in person by our consignor.
