PSA Authentic ticket stub to the September 4, 1916 game played in Chicago between the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds, the final time Hall of Fame pitchers Christy Mathewson and Mordecai Brown would pitch against each other in a major league contest. It was the final game of their carer both both. Mathewson's Reds downed Brown's Cubs 10-8, to give him 373 career wins, 2nd on the All-Time wins list at the time. To this day Mathewson is still tied with fellow Hall of Fame pitcher Grover Cleveland Alexander for #3 on the All-Time list, behind only Cy Young and Walter Johnson. In 25 career match-ups, Brown won 13 to Mathewson's 11 with one no decision. Stub itself is in very nice crease free condition. A small amount of paper loss along the bottom edge on front with similar edge paper loss on the back. Large "PM" printed in red at the bottom indicates this was used for the 2nd game of the day's doubleheader, the one in which Mathewson and Brown squared off against each other. Quite possibly the finest looking as it is one of only three ticket stubs known. All three have been rated Authentic by PSA.
