Offered is a pair of rare paper collectible treasures from Tuxedo Tobacco that feature two members of the 1914 "Miracle Braves" team: Richard Rudolph and Harry Gowdy. Rudolph is quoted as saying, "What creature comfort can compare with a pipe-smoke of mild, mellow tobacco! What tobacco can compare with Tuxedo in mildness and aroma!" Gowdy is quoted as stating, "The delightful mildness of Tuxedo won me the first time I smoked this excellent tobacco. It was such and agreeable relief from the strength and sting of other smoking tobacco."

We have never seen a Tuxedo display piece in which two star players and the back side of the tobacco box are featured in a single display. The unique nature of this piece is enhanced by the fact that both players were the stars of one of the most fabled teams in baseball history. Collectors of Boston sports memorabilia, and of course those who appreciate the golden age of baseball advertising will understand the display value of this exceptional showpiece. There is some damage to these 110 year old boxes but the images displayed lose none of their striking visual appeal. The detail in the faces of Gowdy and Rudolf is truly remarkable, as both images are striking and highly appealing. The featured signs all are presented in unrestored condition, because the consignor did not want to do anything to mar the detail remaining in the images of these legendary star players or detract from the overall vintage look of this memorial to the historically important Miracle Braves. Each box is professionally mounted and framed behind UV protective glass.
