In four seasons of service with the Yankees from 1928-32, former Tigers southpaw Ed Wells posted a record of thirty-seven victories against twenty defeats. A solid performer, Wells certainly benefited from an arsenal of support from a lineup of sluggers anchored by the likes of Ruth and Gehrig. Presented here is a rare, and possibly unique, Ed Wells single signed baseball. The OAL (Harridge) baseball features Wells’ signature largely rendered on a side panel in bold black ink rating 8/10. The medium toned ball has a coat of shellac over the signed panel only and is otherwise EX-MT overall. Wells passed away on May 1, 1986 at the age of 85. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
