In 1924, the New York Giants and the Chicago White Sox went off on a five-month, goodwill tour of Europe to help promote the sport of baseball. The excursion began in England after a four-game spin through Canada in October. The Canadian stops included two games each in Montreal and Quebec, beginning with a turnout of 6,000 in Montreal for a 13-5 Giants victory. Giants’ players who participated included Casey Stengel, Dave Bancroft, Hughie Jennings (coach) Travis Jackson, Jack Bentley, Frankie Frisch and others. The Spalding tour cap stands out by the embroidered NY insignia on top, blue with red points. This cap is considered to be extremely rare, inner sweatband removed. It shows good wear.
